The complaints were done after the chief of Police of Bogotá, General Rodolfo Palomino, announced an investigation after earlier publications these paramilitary forces were committing violent acts inside Bogotá.The involved embassies had a meeting with the Ombudsman to find ways to guarantee the security of the embassies. “This situation requires a reaction from the embassies.” one of the diplomats told Colombian newspaper El Espectador. The embassies will ask for specific measures to protect human rights defenders and demand a public political recognition in favor of human rights work and non governmental organizations.Another diplomat denied the meeting was to pressure the Colombian government, because the diplomats consider the threats an “internal matter” of the Colombia.
