Ecuador insists on sueing Colombia for bombing FARC camp

Ecuador President Rafael Correa Saturday he still intends to sue Colombia for bombing a FARC camp on Ecuadorean soil in March 2008.

“We are taking all relevant legal measures so this case does not go unpunished,” Correa said in his weekly television broadcast.

Correa vowed to use “all judicial bodies that are within our reach so that this treacherous and devious bombing, this insult to national sovereignty does not go unpunished.”

Ecuador broke all diplomatic ties with Colombia after the latter bombed a FARC camp on Ecuadorean territory without warning Ecuadorean authorities. The attack killed the FARC’s number 2, Raul Reyes and 25 others.
