Earthquakes hit central-west Colombia

Two earthquakes were registered as shaking Colombia’s center-west department of Tolima Sunday night, leaving no reported damages or injuries.

A magnitude-3.6 earthquake on the Richter scale hit Tolima on Sunday at 9:32 in the evening. The seismic movement was allegedly on “surface” level, and presented a depth surface of at least 18.6 miles, reported weekly Semana.

According to Colombia’s geologic service, the earthquake’s epicenter was in the municipality of Cajamarca, and was related to the volcano Machin. The volcano is 

Within three minutes of the first earthquake, another magnitude-3.3 tremor was registered.

The city closest to the tremor was Ibague, but as of now there have been no registered damages or injuries.
