Earthquake measuring 4.3 hits department of Huila

An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the richter scale hit the southwestern department of Huila on Thursday, but no casualties or damage has been recorded, reported Colombian media.

According to Colombia’s Institute of Geology and Mining (Ingeominas), the earthquake occurred at 8.47AM on Thursday morning and had a depth of 24 kilometers.

The epicenter of the earthquake was recorded in the municipality of Huila, but was apparently also felt in several towns within the department and in cities such as Villavicencio (center-east), Ibague and Armenia (midwest).
