Drug plane seized in northern Colombia

Authorities in the north of Colombia on Saturday seized an airplane allegedly used for the export of cocaine.

In a joint operation with the navy, army and police, the Colombian Air Force was able to intercept the airplane and forced it to land at an illegal air strip in the northern La Guajira department.

The persons on board of the Cessna 210 plane were able to escape after landing. No drugs were reported seized on board of the aircraft.

The air force said they have seized 20 airplanes so far this year.
