Saturday’s Battle of the Flowers, a parade of traditional and carnival-style dancing and music which goes down Barranquilla’s Via 40, will be taking place a little earlier than previously scheduled – at 12:00 midday.

With this year’s festivities coinciding with the 200th anniversary of Colombian independence, visitors to the parade are encouraged to bring a white handkerchief.

The Carnival of Barranquilla will be a weekend to remember, so make sure you don’t miss out on anything, and check the event’s official website.
