Donkey bites off 5-year old girl’s ear

by Adriaan Alsema May 18, 2009

Colombia news - donkey

A donkey attacked a five-year-old girl in the north Colombia town of
Tolu and bit off her ear while she was playing with friends, the local
paper reported Monday.

“The donkey is eating the girl!” friends of the little girl shouted to warn the neighbors, when the donkey put his teeth in the left ear of the child to lift her up twice.

After the ear detached and the girl fell, the donkey attacked her with its hoofs, which knocked the child unconscious.

The poor girl was taken to a local doctors concluded that, even though the girl had lost her ear, her hearing had remained intact.

According to the mother of the child, donkey ‘Florentino’ attacked people on two earlier occasions. Ernesto Roman, the owner of the animal, denies this.

According to newspaper El Heraldo, it is the third time a donkey takes a bite out of a person in the Sucre department this year.
