‘Don Mario’ admits multiple murder and having hostages

by Adriaan Alsema April 4, 2008

‘Don Mario’, whose real name is Daniel Hererra Rendón and is the brother of jailed and demobilized paramilitary leader Freddy ‘The German’ Rendón, says in the video he ordered the assassination of seven people in Uraba, Antioquia. In the same video 25 uniformed people are showed who, supposedly, tried to murder the drug lord, but were captured. ‘Don Mario’ accuses demobilized paramilitary leader ‘Don Berna’ to want to muder him and paramilitary leader Vicente Castaño.General Oscar Naranjo, Director of the National Police, says to be worried “these two criminal gangs, who are leaving a number of very tragic killings in Córdoba, admit the confrontation, are taking hostage people from the other gangs and are arming themselves further.”Police are investigating the validity of the video.
