Documentary to be released of famed author Gabriel Garcia Marquez

A documentary on the life of Gabriel Garcia Marquez will air next Monday in Colombia and Mexico, portraying the “vision and spirit” of the world renowned author.

The documentary entitled, “Today Begins the Next 100 Years,” a reference to Marquez’ well known novel, “100 Years of Solitude,” includes testimony of Marquez’ family, friends and famous cultural figures such as writer Carlos Fuentes, Emmanuel Carballo and Rafael Vargas, according to cultural media source Vive.in.

The documentary project begain in 2007 and wasn’t finished until this year, filmed in several locations in both Colombia and Mexico, reported Mexican newspaper Veracruzanos.

85-year-old Garcia Marquez still resides in Mexico and there has been recent debate about whether or not the famed author suffered from dementia.
