A new documentary series offers a glimpse in the world of tradition, mysticism and beauty of the indigenous Wayuu tribe in the north of Colombia.
In the 13-episode series, called “Wayuu, people of sand,” indigenous filmers
“We feel as much as Colombians as someone from the center of the country, and yet we have been isolated from the national consciousness. Today we want to get to be known the way we really are. We want to use this documentation to tell our stories, our way of seeing the world, and present the human beings,” Reneta Garcia Arpushana, one of the people responsible for the idea and a member of the Wayuu community, told El Nuevo Siglo.
The documentary series will be shown weekly at 21:30 on Senal Colombia, starting October 12.
