DMG advisor released on $8 million bail

Former financial adviser to DMG director David Murcia Guzman, Ernesto Chong Coronado, was released on $8 million bail Monday.

One of the conditions of his bail is that he must not leave the country.

He
was arrested March 27 when he traveled to Miami, despite being under
house arrest. Chong was banned from leaving the country while DMG
director Murcia is under investigation for allegedly leading a ponzi scheme and laundering money for drug lords.

According to authorities, Chong was Murcia’s financial adviser and is considered a key figure in the current investigation.
