Deputy Interior and Justice Ministers to resign

Colombia’s deputy Interior and Justice Ministers will resign the coming
days, deputy Interior Minister María Isabel Nieto said Tuesday.

Nieto says she will leave office to try to be elected into Congress or support the Presidential aspirations of current Cambio Radical chairman Germán Vargas Lleras.

Nieto did announce her Justice colleague will resign too, but did not say why.

To be able to run for public office in the next elections, members of the cabinet will have to resign before March.
