Death of missing Bogota policeman ruled accidental

Authorities on Tuesday night confirmed that the death of Bogota policeman Jairo Diaz was accidental, amid concerns that he may have been killed by members of a Colombian gang.

The body of Jairo Diaz, who was first reported missing on January 27, was found in a sewer in the Colombian capital early Monday morning. Authorities initially assumed gangs murdered the 24-year-old policeman, but after consulting an autopsy report authorities suspect Diaz may have died of accidental causes.
