Danish supermarket receives cocaine in Colombian banana shipment mix-up

A supermarket in Denmark mistakenly received 100kg of cocaine packed inside banana boxes from Colombia, US news agency AP reported on Wednesday. Employees in of the supermarket western Denmark last week anticipated a fresh batch of bananas from the South American nation, but instead unpacked the boxes to discover a white powder, which police said was cocaine.

The supermarket staff initially realized that something was wrong because some of the Colombian banana boxes were much heavier than the others.

Representative Jens Juul from supermarket chain Coop claimed that more of the powder was found in a separate shipment, also from Colombia, on Wednesday.

Police are investigating tha narco blunder, but hasn’t arrested anyone so far.
