Court denies minister’s request to be taken off of Medina bribery verdict

Social Welfare Minister Diego Palacio will remain mentioned in the
verdict of former congresswoman Yidis Medina as the one who bribed the
convicted lawmaker, Colombia’s Constitutional Court ruled Tuesday.

The Minister wanted his name taken off the verdict, because he has not yet been trialed or convicted for the bribery and claims his good name is being slandered.

The Constitutional Court disagreed, because when going to court himself his name can be cleared.
