Córdoba wants Brazil to provide logistic support for hostage release

Mediator Piedad Córdoba said Thursday she will ask Brazil to provide
the logistics for the operation to pick up a hostage the FARC promised
to release.

The FARC informed the opposition senator Córdoba that they would release Pablo
Emilio Moncayo
, an army corporal who has spent the last eleven years in guerrilla captivity.

Brazil facilitated the release of six hostages by the FARC earlier this year. Córdoba will ask Colombian President Álvaro Uribe to authorize Brazil to also carry out this operation.
