Independiente Medellín haven’t been able to secure their first victory
in this year’s Copa Libertadores, as they were held to a scoreless draw
by Uruguayan side Defensor Sporting on Tuesday.
Following last week’s 1-1 draw at Sao Paulo, where the Colombians almost got away with a win, confidence was high for the side’s second Libertadores game.
But although Medellín did dominate, the Uruguayan defence held on and kept the ball away from their goal to secure an important point.
With four points from two games, Defensor remain in first place in this group and Medellín are second. América de Cali and Sao Paulo, the other two teams in this group, face each other on March 6th.
DIM get to take a break from Libertadores action. Their next opponents are América, in Cali on March 11th.
