Copa Libertadores: Gremio too strong for Boyacá Chicó

Boyacá Chicó could not cause a major upset in the Copa Libertadores on
Wednesday, as the Brazilian giants left Tunja with a 0-1 win in the
pocket.

The match was played in the capital of Boyacá, despite last week’s reports of Gremio wanting to have it relocated to Bogotá.

The only goal of the game came on 32 minutes, and was scored by Willamis de Souza. Chicó’s Juan Mahecha conceded a second booking in the 70th minute and was sent off as result.

In the closing minutes, Gremio created several major chances to add a second goal but the Brazilians somehow failed to take advantage.

Chicó are currently third in Group 7, with three points from two games. Universidad de Chile and Gremio share the lead with four points each.
