Constitutional Court won’t investigate 2006 elections

The Supreme Court had called for the investigation after former congresswoman Yidis Medina was convicted for bribery. She had testified government officials had promised her political favors if she voted for the constitutional change needed for Colombian President Álvaro Uribe to run again.According to a source close to the court told Colombian media the errors made in the constitutional vote can not be revised, because the date for the court to intervene expire one year after the act. The Court admitted there were irregularities in the process, but doesn’t consider itself competent to judge.
