Constitual Court bans Bogotá’s “Wall of shame”

The Court ruled that authorities and press are not allowed not to publish personal data or photographs of sex offenders, considering it a violation to the violator’s right to dignity, reputation and privacy.It added public scrutiny wouldn’t compensate the damage caused to the victims in any way or have a corrective purpose.On Monday, the Colombian House of Representatives passed a new law against sex offenders, raising the penalties of sex crimes. Sex offenders and child molesters will face longer jail sentences if convicted.
