Conservatives want ‘their’ Arias to resign

A number of lawmakers of the Conservative Party called on Agriculture
Minister Andres Felipe Arias to resign and make himself available for
the Conservatives’ presidential pre-election.

The call on the Minister comes just after the sinking of the possibility of an immediate re-election of current Colombian President Álvaro Uribe.

According to Caracol Radio, the Conservative Party’s board of directors will officially announce the pre-election in the first half of January.
