Confusion over visa requirements for Colombians in Venezuela

The Colombian government is unable to confirm whether Colombian citizens will need to apply for a visa on entry to Venezuela.

According to reports, Venezuela’s migration services sent a notice to Colombian airline Avianca in which Colombia is left out of the list of countries whose citizens do not need a visa to enter Venezuela.

Members of Colombia’s Foreign Ministry suspect that the omission may have been a mistake and are in the process of clarifying the situation.

Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry denied knowledge of the change and suggested that it may have been a mistake.

The Colombian government has not been officially informed of any changes to the visa requirements of Colombians entering Venezuela.
