Colombia’s VP picks up work after coma

Colombia’s vice-President Angelino Garzon is slowly going back to work after cerebrovascular complications forced medics to put the politician in an induced coma.

According to local media, Garzon discussed ongoing political issues with President Juan Manuel Santos during a brief telephone conversation on Monday.

A personal friend of the VP told newspaper El Tiempo that the recovering Garzon has met with friends and has started planning his political agenda for when he has recovered from his illness.

Other sources told the newspaper that the vice-president spends a few hours a day working.

Garzon was hospitalized mid June.
