by Adriaan Alsema August 4, 2010

Colombia’s producer prices dropped 0.61% in July from a year earlier, as price declines in mining and industry goods dragged down the producer prices index, the national statistics department, or DANE, said Wednesday.

The prices of mining goods fell 1.85%, while those of industrial goods fell 0.65%. Agriculture prices declined 0.07%, DANE said.

Producer prices had declined 0.8% in June. Prices are up 2.97% over the first seven months of the year and up 1.81% in the 12 months through July.

Prices of goods produced and consumed in Colombia declined 0.44% in July, while those of imported goods fell 1.39%.

The country’s producer prices fell 0.3% in July 2009 and 2.19% for all of 2009. (Darcy Crowe / Dow Jones)
