Colombia’s inflation 0.11% in August

Colombia’s consumer prices rose 0.11 percent in August compared with inflation of 0.04 percent in the same month a year earlier, the government said Saturday.

Colombia, Latin America’s No. 4 oil producer, is recovering robustly from the global economic crisis and the government expects growth of around 4 percent this year.

Inflation for the year so far to August was 2.54 percent,the DANE statistics agency said in a statement.

The central bank has forecast inflation of between 2 to 4 percent for this year. (Reuters)
