Colombia’s Giraldo loses to Spain’s Ferrer in Acapulco

Colombia’s Santiago Ferrer lost the semi finals of the ATP500 tournament in the Mexican city of Acapulco to Spain’s David Ferrer Friday.

Giraldo, 80 in the ATP rankings lost in two sets (7-5 and 6-4) to Ferrer, the tournament’s favorite and 6th in the ATP rankings.

Ferrer, who won the last two editions of the Acapulco tournament, will face his countryman Fernando Verdasco in Saturday’s final.
