Colombia’s Fredy Guarin leaves Inter Milan for China

Fredy Guarin

Colombia midfielder Fredy Guarin will leave Inter Milan to continue his soccer career with China’s Shanghai Greenland Shenhua, the player announced Wednesday.

Guarin reportedly signed a two-year contract with the Chinese club, currently led by Spanish coach Gregorio Manzano.

The 29-year-old midfielder reportedly cost the Chinese Super League side $15.7 million.

Guarin played in Inter’s blue and black jersey more than 110 times since joining the team in 2012.

However, the Colombian found himself frequently on the bench rather than on the field over the past years.

The Colombian began his career at Envigado in 2004 and moved to Argentina’s Boca Juniors in 2005. Since then, the midfielder also played for France’s Saint-Etienne and Portugal’s Porto.
