Colombia’s first digital library to be launched

13 public and private universities of Colombia founded a new online
library which offers academic and scientific information for free and
for everybody.

“We had the idea to establish the Colombian Digital Library (BDCOL) since more and more universities digitize their document which before could only be accessed against payment”, Margarita Lisowska, library director of the Rosario University, told El Tiempo.

5905 journals, theses, books and other records are now available online and can be searched by keywords.

The launch and opening of BDCOL takes place at the University of Rosario on 4th and 5th June.
