Colombians the most unfaithful in Latin America

Colombians are the most unfaithful in Latin America with 66 percent of men and women admitting to having cheated on their partner at least once, a survey published on Monday showed.

The internet survey conducted by Grupo de Diarios America (GDA) on sexuality questioned more than 13,000 people in 11 Latin American countries. Results show 63 percent of Latin Americans confirming they have had sexual relations outside the partnership at least once.

Colombians also consider themselves sexier than others, the survey showed, with 87.8 percent of the interviewed men and women say they are comfortable with their bodies. In addition,  88.8 percent of Colombians state that they feel they are the most attractive sexually within the whole region.

Most of the infidelities were confessed by men, with 70 percent of men admitting to having cheated “once or twice.” Twenty-six percent of Brazilian men said they have done it “more than three times,” followed by Costa Ricans with 22.3 percent and Colombians with 21.7 percent. Sixteen percent of Brazilians also confessed to being unfaithful to their current partner.

The review of the data also showed that Colombian women are leading with 59.2 percent admitting to having cheated on their partners “once or twice.” However, 15.1 percent of Chilean women have misled their partners “over three times,” closely followed by Brazilian women with 14.1 percent. Six perecent of Mexicans confirm that they are currently deceiving their partner.

The most faithful participants appear to be Uruguayan men at 47 percent, and Argentinian women at 54.8 percent.

The survey also states that 13.7 Latin American men had their first sexual encounter with other men and 47.5 percent of men and women have been involved in a “threesome.” Seven out of every ten participants within the region masturbate and most women confess to simulating orgasm. Seventy-three percent of Latin Americans admitted to having had sex at least once under the influence of alcohol. Colombia had the highest percentage with 82 percent.

However, the survey also showed that people rarely talk about sex, with one in four Latin Americans being sexually active before the age of 16. Less than 50 percent “often” talk with their partner about sex and one in three has paid sex. An additional 13 percent has confessed to having maintained relations in exchange of favors, such as goods or money.
