Colombian vallenato singer releases new single

Colombian vallenato singer Jorge Celedon has released a video of his new single “Lo Que Tu Necesitas” from his album of the same name.

The video and the single chronicle a tale of love and betrayal between a woman and her man. Celedon’s full album will be released later this July in Colombia.

Celedon was awarded a Grammy for best vallenato artist in 2007 at the Latin Grammy Awards in Miami. In 2008 he performed for former President Bush at a White House event celebrating Colombian independence day.

Vallenato music is a form of traditional music that originated in Colombia’s Caribbean region. It features accordions, vallenata drums, and a ribbed wooden stick known as a guacharaca.
