Colombian Under-20 team lose to Chile

The Colombian Under-20 selection no longer has a chance of featuring at the 2012 Olympic Games following a 3-1 defeat by Chile at the South American Championship.

Colombia needed a win over Chile in order to remain in contention in the final phase of the ‘Sudamericano Sub-20’, and did have a great start as Chilean Cristian Magaña directed the ball into his own net after less than two minutes.

But Luis Gallegos leveled the score in the 24th minute and Ramses Bustos then completed the turn-around three minutes before the break.

Shortly after the interval, Bryan Carrasco made it 3-1 to Chile and ended Colombia’s resistance.

The Colombian youngsters now sit in last place in the final group, with only Saturday’s game with Argentina left to play.
