Colombian travel agencies increase revenues

Colombian travel agencies saw a 17.5% increase in nominal revenues during the second trimester of 2011 compared to the same quarter in 2010, reported the national statistics agency DANE Tuesday.

The number of personnel employed in the travel agency sector also increased, 1.8% more than data from the second trimester of 2010.

In the first semester of 2011 travel agencies revenues increased 11.3% compared to the same period in 2010, while employment rose 0.8%.

In the period of May 2010-2011, nominal revenues increased 2.9% while personnel employment decreased 0.5% compared to the year before.
