Colombia model Natalia Paris goes ‘au naturel,’ rejecting Photoshop

Colombian supermodel Natalia Paris has rejected Photoshop, telling interviewers that she has decided to return to a more natural style of modeling, free of artificial touch-ups.

The Colombian beauty decided not to use the digital graphic design tool, used by the majority of modern magazine models, in a recent publicity campaign, stating that she is following the “natural” trend that has already taken off in Europe, while rejecting what she sees as the over-use of technology to make photos appear un-naturally perfect.

“It is not a new tendency,” Natalia told Cromos magazine, in relation to the abuse of Photoshop by modern models, “In Europe they already reacted, the women don’t appear perfect, nor do they have those long haircuts with extensions. I have said that to the photographers and to the clients, that I think that this is what sells.”

“It’s that they change one’s features and afterwards they say that it was done to get rid of my chubby cheeks and and to make my mouth fuller,” said the model, in respect to her distaste for the digital tool.

The model, who in May announced her philosophy that “bad publicity is better than no publicity,” now has added a second gem to her pronouncements, with the statement that, “What they see is who I am.”

The images in Natalia’s new campaign reflect this new philosophy, showing minimalist and natural makeup with legs and arms turned in more informal positions, in natural lighting, and not brushed up to look flawless.
