Several high-profile Colombian musicians announced their support for Juan Manuel Santos‘ presidential campaign, after Colombian superstar Juanes accused the candidate of using one of his songs without permission.
Performers such as vallenato crooner Jorge Celedon, salsa singer Joe Arroyo and others including Checo Acosta, Fonseca, Silvestre Dangond, Cabas, Mauricio and Palo de Agua, will perform at Partido de la U political rallies scheduled around the country this weekend.
Santos is planning to go out with a bang before the close of campaigning Sunday evening. From midnight Sunday, candidates are prohibited by law from staging public appearances until the elections on May 30.
Juanes Tuesday accused Santos of using his song “La Camisa Negra,” calling this “abuse,” on his Twitter account.
Santos team claims that the campaign was not responsible for the use of the song.
