Colombia’s Falcao scores big in Oliver Stone’s World Cup commercial

Colombia’s favorite soccer player Radamel Falcao is the protagonist, scoring the featured goal, in Oliver Stone’s FIFA Brazil 2014 World Cup commercial, created for DirecTV.

The Colombian soccer star Falcao appears in the commercial alongside other Latin American greats, Argentina’s Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero and Brazil’s David Luiz, walking onto the soccer field as Oliver Stone, who is seemingly directing the game, asks, “Where are the stars?”

The emotional excitement continues to build as Luis and Aguero break through the defender’s line, culminating in header goal scored by Falcao.

Striker Falcao, sometimes call “El Tigre,” who was ranked as 6th best soccer player in the world by a 2012 analysis in the Guardian, recently scored two penalty kicks in the selection’s 3-3 tie against Chile, qualifying Colombia for their first World Cup in 16 years.
