Colombian midfielder Freddy Guarin is on the verge of joining Italian giants Inter Milan, reported Colombian media.
Guarin, 25, who currently plays in Portugal with Porto, will initially sign on loan, with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer, in a deal which could exceed $16 million.
The midfielder had been expected to join Inter’s rivals Juventus, who are top of the Italian league.
However he will now go to a squad currently fifth in Serie A, nine points behind the leaders, who are seeking to recover from a bad start to the campaign.
Guarin will be the second Colombian at the club, joining defender Ivan Cordoba.
He has previously played for Saint-Etienne in France, Boca Juniors in Argentina, and Envigado in Colombia.
