Colombian soccer fans injure 8 police

Enraged soccer fans injure at least 8 police after a game in central Colombia, reported local media Monday.

Fans rushed the field after soccer team Tolima beat rival Santa Fe in a 2-1 match.

Conflicting reports ascribe the violence to both Tolima and Santa Fe fans.

The injured police were taken to Federico lleras Acosta Hospital. The majority sustained their injuries when fans hurled rocks at them.

Police officials said an invesetigation into the identities of those responsible was underway.
