Colombian skaters add to medal haul

Colombian roller speed skaters finished the second day of the World Championship in Korea with another impressive medal haul.

Jersy Puello and Adres Felipe Muñoz added two gold medals to the three won on the first day after victory in the womens’ and mens’ 500-meter races.

Second place finishes for Kelly Martinez, Boris Peña, Nathalia Giraldo and Andres Felipe Campo mean Colombia has now won eight silver medals, while Yessenia Escobar, Martha Lucia Ramirez and Jorge Luis Cifuentes placed third to take the bronze medal tally to four.

The results leave Colombia in second place, trailing hosts South Korea, who have won two less medals but three more golds.

On Thursday, the third day of the six-day tournament, will see the 500, 1000 and 3000 meter events.
