Colombian singer defies death

Colombia’s top vallenato singer and composer Diosmedes Diaz was forced to confirm he is still alive and kicking Friday, after rubbish reports that he had been shot several times in an attack.

The bizarre rumour was unleashed several weeks ago, leading Diaz’s family to confirm on Colombian radio that he was, in fact, very much alive, and the star himself to post on his Twitter page; “For now, death will have to wait, it will have to wait. God bless me.”

In an ongoing effort to prove his vitality, Diaz has announced the release of “Con Mucho Gusto” (With Pleasure) — the first single from his new album — on December 16.
