Colombian sets new continental record in triple jump

Colombian Caterine Ibarguen established a new continental record in the women’s triple jump on Friday various media reported.

lbarguen set the record at a meet in Stockholm, Sweden. The 27-year-old jumped 14.83 meters in her 6th and final attempt, which helped her finish third in the competition.

Europe’s female triple jump champion Olha Saladukha won the event with a jump of 15.06 meters, followed by Cuba’s Yargelis Savigne with a 14.80 meter jump.

Ibarguen improved the previous South American record of 14.66 meters.
