Colombian tennis player Santiago Giraldo did not manage to survive the first round at the French Open on Monday.
Giraldo started well in Paris, beating his Japanese opponent Kei Nishikori 6-2 in the first set and 6-4 in the second.
The third set was decided by a tie-break, which the Asian won 7 to 3.
The match turned around from that moment, with Nishikori winning the final two sets 6-2 and 6-4.
On Sunday, Alejandro Falla did advance to the second round. There might be more good news for Colombian tennis on Tuesday when Mariana Duque faces Austrian Sybille Bammer.
