The National Police confirmed Wednesday night that an officer-in-training from the Colombian Police force has AH1N1. He has been quarantined to avoid infecting others.
This is the first case of the swine flu among the Colombian armed forces. The infected officer was at a police training school.
He had been in the United States for training.
He has been isolated from his fellow training officers.
The announcement of this latest case follows the first death from swine flu by a 24-year-old woman from Bogota. The parents of this woman say the doctors were negligent in the treatment of their daughter.
The latest case of the deadly flu brings the count of confirmed cases in Colombia to 29.
