Colombian police identify 3 hacker suspects

Colombian police said Friday that they have identified three suspects who are believed to be accomplices in the hacking of a number of state websites, Caracol Radio reported.

Earlier this week hackers shut down the websites of President Juan Manuel Santos, the Interior Ministry, the Partido de la U., and the intelligence agency DAS.

Authorities said that the attacks were launched from servers in Spain and Mexico. Arrest warrants have not been issued as evidence is currently being accumulated, although Colombia’s cyber-crime division said that more arrest warrants could be issued when there is sufficient evidence.

The government claims that no data was lost when the websites were shut down.
