Colombian police capture alleged hacker

Colombian police captured Sunday the alleged hacker who had violated the Twitter and Facebook accounts of SoHo Magazine Director, Daniel Samper Ospina, reported newspaper El Espectador.

Johan Armando Cubillos Gutierrez, a 23-year-old mechanical engineering student at the Universidad Nacional, was suspected of being guilty for infiltrating the social networks and private e-mail accounts of Daniel Sampler Ospina under the alias of “Sophie Germain.”

The Colombian information authorities are trying to figure out if Gutierrez worked alone and if he is responsible for other hacking crimes against various other important Colombian public figures.

According to the SoHo website, the police found clues online of the potential names and dates of the hacker’s possible future victims.

Gutierrez will have to appear in front of a judge for his abuse of information systems, among other charges.
