Colombian Navy seizes 130 kilos of explosives near Pacific port town

Tumaco explosives

Colombia’s Navy said Sunday it has seized 32 homemade bombs with a total of 130 kilos of explosives.

The explosives were found just outside the Pacific port town of Tumaco which is considered key to the trafficking of Colombian drugs to Ecuador and Central America.

According to the Navy, the explosives belonged to the country’s largest rebel group FARC, which — together with other illegal groups — is highly active in the region.
