Colombian Navy discovers suspected FARC cocaine labs

The Colombian Navy discovered two alleged FARC cocaine labs in a  rural area of southwestern Colombia.

The Navy reported Wednesday that the laboratories located in a rural area of Buenaventura contained hundreds of gallons of chemicals used to manufacture cocaine, as well as over 1200 gallons of processed coca leaf. Two homemade shotguns were also recovered.

Colombian authorities reported that other labs allegedly belonging to the FARC’s mobile column “Libido Garcia” were destroyed nearby.

The Pacific Naval Force has reportedly seized 21 cocaine labs this year and vow to continue to “develop operations that will weaken the logistical and financial structures of the illegal armed groups that commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific.”
