Colombian model-cum-narco boss transfered to new prison after attack

Colombia news - Angie Sanclemente

Colombian lingerie model and alleged drug ring leader, Angie Sanclemente Valencia was transfered to a new prison after an attack by prison cell mates.

According to Valencia’s mother, Janet Sanclemente, Valencia was transfered from the Women’s Federal Detention Center to the Women’s Correctional Institution after “she was slapped and received death threats” by other inmates. Both prisons are in Ezeiza, Argentina.

Valencia was accused of operating a drug cartel composed of attractive young models to run cocaine from Argentina to Western Europe.

Sanclemente stated that her daughter is depressed and “the only thing she thinks about is suicide.”

Valencia appeared before an Argentina court in June 2010, and denied accusations that she was running a cocaine cartel.

Valencia was arrested in May 2010, after her alleged drug cartel was exposed when one of her “unsuspicious, beautiful angels” was caught with 55kg of cocaine in the Buenos Aires airport.

The Barranquilla-born beauty queen was reportedly dating a Mexican drug lord known as “The Monster” but left him to form her own smuggling operation.

Valencia was crowned the Queen of Coffee in 2000, but had to return the award, after it was discovered that she was married, making her ineligible.
