Colombian military finds FARC weapon stashes

Colombian soldiers seized arms and stolen military uniforms from five supposed FARC warehouses in the western part of the country, newspaper El Espectador reported Thursday.

The joint operation between Colombian military and police forces uncovered 180 pounds of explosives, one anti-personnel mine, hundreds of gunpowder jars and thousands of weapons cartridges in the rural municipality of Buga, located in the Valle de Cauca department, the military reported.

They also found dozens of stolen military uniforms and four national police regalia marked with highway patrol badges.

Authorities alleged that the materials belonged to FARC front Alirio Torres. There were no arrests made in the operation.
