Colombian man catches giant river fish

An ageing angler caught a 40kg river fish while dipping his hook in northwest Colombia’s River Sinu, reported daily El Heraldo.

The epic haul came just one hour into Plinio Jose Molina Jalal’s Saturday afternoon fishing trip. He was apparently the only person unsurprised by the mammoth catch, claiming “I left [the house] looking for her.”

According to the 66-year-old, he only hunts monsters for fun. “I do it as a hobby because I only fish when I have spare time,” he told El Dorado.

However the beastseeker’s business acumen soon showed itself as he commenced bidding on the gilled behemoth. “I’m asking 100,000 pesos [$55],” he said.
