Colombian House turns down 2009 budget

The Colombian House of Representatives turned down the government’s
budget for the coming year and sent Finance Minister Oscar Ivan Zuluaga
back to the drawing table.

the Government hadn’t added the latest deal with the court workers union to teh draft and wasn’t able to explain to the House how it was going to pay the 111 billion pesos for leveling the court workers wages.

Zuluaga expressed his consern about the refusal to aprove, but has one last change to have a adapted budget proposal aproved in a next session next Monday.
